Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car In Melville: Police
The man was walking in the road on Tuesday afternoon when he was hit by a car, police say.
MELVILLE, NY — A pedestrian was killed after he was hit by a car in Melville on Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
A 22-year-old Farmingdale woman was driving a 2010 Honda Civic southbound on Broadhollow Road, south of the Long Island Expressway, when she struck a man in the road at 5:30 p.m., police said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are withholding his identity pending notification of next of kin.
The woman was not injured, police said. Her car was impounded for a safety check.
