Person Injured After Car Overturns Into Woods In Dix Hills

DIX HILLS, NY — A car overturned in Dix Hills Friday afternoon, the Suffolk County Police Department said.

An SUV overturned onto its side and into the woods around 12:20 p.m. on the North Service Road by the ramp from Commack Road, according to P.I.O. Steve Silverman. The driver freed himself from the car before the Dix Hills Fire Department arrived. He was brought to Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries by Dix Hills FD Rescue Squad ambulance.

The fire department responded with two trucks, an ambulance and first responder unit, all under their direction of Chief Alan Berkowitz and First Assistant Chief Joe Williamson.
