School Officials Address Questions From Jan. 7 Meeting

Inquires focus on issues pertaining to possible school closures.

The Half Hollow Hills School District has posted answers to several dozen questions from school district parents and residents as it pertains to the possible closure of one or more schools to meet a budget shortfall.

At the January 7 Board of Education meeting, an estimated 1,000 residents packed High School East to hear firsthand the financial difficulties facing the school district. As officials begin preparing the proposed budget for the 2013-14 school year, they warned that Half Hollow Hills is facing a $6.86 million budget gap.

Questions submitted by residents at the meeting have been addressed and placed on the district's website in a PDF. (A copy of the PDF is attached here.)
