'Shed the Meds' Drop off at Half Hollow Hills Unity Day Fair
Residents can anonymously dispose of their unwanted or unused medications on Sunday.

Residents can anonymously dispose of their unwanted or unused medication during the Half Hollow Hills Unity Day Fair on Sunday.
Collection time is from 12 to 3 p.m. at Half Hollow Hills West High School, located at 375 Wolf Hill Road in Dix Hills.
The medications dropped into a lock box will be disposed of un an environmentally safe way. This community-wide “Shed the Meds” pharmaceutical disposal day looks to protect drinking water as well as prevent young people from gaining access to controlled substance.

Suffolk County Legislator Steve Stern, who is partnering with the Half Hollow Hills School District at its Unity Day Fair, said “shed the meds” will help prevent over-the-counter and prescription medications from being detected in drinking water supplies.
