Shots Fired Into 2 Long Island Homes From Northern State Parkway

Police say the homes do not appear to have been targeted.

DIX HILLS, NY – Gunfire struck two Long Island homes Saturday morning and police say the shots were fired from the Northern State Parkway.

Police responded to a 911 call reporting multiple shots fired on Woodedge Drive in Dix Hills at about 7 a.m. Upon arrival, police discovered two adjacent homes, located at 39 and 41 Woodedge Drive, were each struck once. No one inside the homes was injured and the homes do not appear to have been targeted, police say.

An investigation determined the shots were apparently fired from the eastbound lanes of the Northern State Parkway. Second Precinct police officers, a canine unit, crime scene units, and State Police responded to the scene and assisted the Second Squad with the investigation. No arrests have been made.
