Temperatures to Nosedive on Long Island as Mother Nature Remembers Its November

The temperature hit 72 degrees at Long Island MacArthur Airport on Thursday. It won't come close to that as Friday as the weather turns noticeably cooler across the region.

The high on Friday will be near 58 and then go find that extra winter blanket you put in storage because you are going to need it Friday night. Temperatures will drop into the mid-30s across the island overnight. Patchy frost will be possible Saturday morning.

Here's the full forecast from the National Weather Service:

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 58. North wind 11 to 16 mph.

Friday Night: Patchy frost after 5am. Otherwise, clear, with a low around 36. North wind 6 to 9 mph.

Saturday: Patchy frost before 8am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 54. West wind 6 to 10 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 45. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 55.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 40.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 52.
