Trial Talk, Krishna Das Interview

Your guide to what's going on around town.

The South Huntington Public Library offers a talk on great trials in American history. Retired history teacher Don Parker will take an in-depth look at two trials: The witch trials in Salem, Mass., in 1692 and the Scottsboro Boys in Alabama in 1931. Open to all, at 7 p.m.

-- Bhavani Jaroff interviews Krishna Das, at a showing of One Track Heart at Cinema Arts.  The documentary traces the  story of young Long Island musician Jeffrey Kagel and how he became Krishna Das—a spiritual teacher, chant master and Grammy-nominated recording artist. Showing at 7:30 p.m.

--Six businesses are opening their doors Tuesday, two at Walt Whitman Shops, and four on Main Street.

--Whitman High School's PTA reminds families about the Target Take Charge of Education program. Target donates 1% of all Redcard purchases to the high school if shoppers sign up online.
