Long Island Weather: Winter Storm Hour-by-Hour Forecast

Well, let's get this over with. See the hour-by-hour storm forecast for Long Island.

Sorry, snow lovers. The National Weather Service says the island will see "little to no snow" from a winter storm that will impact the Tri-State area beginning Saturday evening and continuing through Sunday.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for northern Nassau County and northwestern Suffolk County until 4 a.m. Sunday. Those areas may see up to 2 inches of snow accumulate before the snow turns to rain late Saturday night.

Coastal flooding and a likely flash freeze late Sunday into early Monday morning are the main issues of concern for the island.

A coastal flooding warning will be in effect for southern Nassau from 4-11 a.m. Sunday. There is an elevated threat of property damage in the area as tides up to 3-feet above normal slam the coast.

A flash flood watch will be in effect for the entire island from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.

Temperatures will fall from around 45 degrees at 8 a.m. Sunday to 19 degrees at 8 p.m. Dangerous wind chills temperatures of 10-15 degrees below zero are possible Sunday night into Monday morning.
