Looking for a casual, delicious place to eat this weekend? We have the answer for you with our new column, Bites Nearby, where we offer our suggestion for your weekend appetite.

Located only a few feet from the popular Claremont Shopping Center, on Halstead Avenue is our choice this week.

A casual Italian eatery, Pizza 2000 offers more than just a slice of pizza, the restaurant includes a spacious dining area and well-rounded menu. While there be sure to try the Grandma Pizza, which is an extra-thin Sicilian crust pizza with plum tomatoes, sliced fresh mozzarella, basil, oregano and Romano cheese. 

If you're not hungry for Italian, grab a hero, burger or a wrap, which are also available. All menu items are also made to order and the dedicated restaurant staff is to the needs of all customers.

Pizza 2000 is located at 337 Halstead Avenue, and is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays. For reservations (not required) call 914-835-8000.
