Brush Fire Burning In Nature Preserve
The National Weather Service put a red flag warning into effect from noon to 11 p.m. because of high winds and dry conditions.
HARRISON, NY — A large brush fire is burning in the Silver Lake Preserve Wednesday afternoon.
According to Kempter's Fire Wire, many local fire departments have sent equipment and volunteers to the scene. Those helping West Harrison include Purchase, Harrison, North White Plains, Armonk, Port Chester and Valhalla.
The high wind conditions made it impossible for Westchester County's firefighting aviation unit to deploy the Bambi-bucket.
