Flooded Parkway Closures As Evening Commute Continues: UPDATE

UPDATE, 7 p.m.

BRP (Partially Closed): Closed both directions between Sprain Brook Pkwy Split and Westchester County Center In White Plains due to flooding.

HRP (Partially Closed): Closed southbound at Cross County Pkwy to E Lincoln Ave due to flooding.Closed northbound at Wolfs Lane to E Lincoln Ave due to flooding.

SMRP (Partially Closed): Northbound lanes closed at I-87(Exit 20) due to flooding, traffic being diverted onto I-87 NB. Southbound lanes closed at Rt 119 (Exit 21) in Elmsford flooding, traffic being diverted on Rt 119.

CCP (Partially Closed): Eastbound ramp to Hutchinson River Pkwy (Exit 9) southbound closed to due flooding.

Playland PKWY (Open): All clear

Other Events in the past couple of hours: Saw Mill closure southbound at Exit 26 for Taconic State Pkwy has been cleared. Ramps from Taconic State Pkwy southbound to Saw Mill River Pkwy southbound, and Rt 9A southbound to Saw Mill River Pkwy southbound reopened as well. Abandoned vehicle in flood waters on Bronx River Pkwy under Palmer Rd overpass removed by tow.

Vehicle abandoned in flood water northbound under the Palmer Rd Bridge, inaccessible to tow until flood waters recede.

HRP (Partially Closed): Closed southbound at Cross County Pkwy to E Lincoln Ave due to flooding.

Other Events in the past hour: Both eastbound motor vehicle accidents on Cross County Pkwy have been cleared.

The Westchester County Department of Public Safety reports that as of 4 p.m. four of the county's parkways have flooding problems serious enough to stop traffic. Also, the Taconic State Parkway exit to the southbound Saw Mill River Parkway is closed.

Motor vehicle accident with injuries in the eastbound express lanes at the Bronx River Parkway. Another motor vehicle accident with injuries eastbound at the New Rochelle Road exit ramp.
