Harrison received a high ranking based on public schools, crime rates, cost of living and family-friendly amenities.
HARRISON, NY — Harrison is one of the best places in the United States to raise a family, according to Niche.com's 2021 survey.
The rankings were based on public schools, crime rates, cost of living and family-friendly amenities. Data from the U.S. Census, FBI, Bureau of Labor Statistics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention were also factored in.

Harrison is a suburb of New York City with a population of 28,135. Harrison is in Westchester County and is one of the best places to live in New York. Living in Harrison offers residents a dense suburban feel and most residents own their homes. In Harrison there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many young professionals live in Harrison and residents tend to have moderate political views. The public schools in Harrison are highly rated.
In this year's rankings, one Hudson Valley community was listed among the top 100 places for families across the United States: Chappaqua, clocking in at No. 87 nationally.
