Harrison Democratic Committee Endorses Moving Harrison Forward Team,
Plus Candidate for Town Justice
Harrison, NY – The Harrison Democratic Committee is excited to announce its endorsement of
the Moving Harrison Forward team for election this November -- Frank Gordon for Mayor, and
Rachel Berkey and Adam Weiner for Town Board -- according to Frank Corvino the Committee’s
Chairman.

“These individuals bring a progressive, transparent and responsible approach to town
government,” said Corvino. “Harrison town government is at an inflection point. After a decade
of leadership by the same administration, residents want a fresh start,” he added. “The
integrity, experience and backgrounds of the Moving Harrison Forward team are without peer.
Residents can look forward to leadership that puts their interests first.”

In a joint statement, Gordon, Berkey and Weiner said, “We are running to return the focus of
town government back to the residents of Harrison. We will work tirelessly to deliver what
every resident expects and deserves -- the highest level of service, and fair and equitable
treatment.”

The Moving Harrison Forward team will run on the Democratic and Working Families Parties
lines.

MOVING HARRISON FORWARD’S COMMITMENT -- A FRESH START

Harrison town government is at a turning point. A decade of leadership by the current
administration is coming to an end. We believe residents yearn for a different kind of
government, one in which power is shared widely, rather than confined to a few.

Moving Harrison Forward intends to return local government to its roots, as a government of
the people, by the people, and for the people. We intend to elevate your role as active
participants in making Harrison a better place to live. Your knowledge of Harrison is an
untapped resource that holds the key to solving our community’s problems.

Our commitment to you involves total transparency and total resident engagement in town
government. This means we will inform you of important developments well in advance of their
reaching the point of no return. It also means we will seek out and embrace all viewpoints,
which evidence has shown leads to better outcomes.

Other aspects of our commitment to you involve honesty and fairness. Deliberations will take
place under the public eye and there will be no favoritism or cronyism.

You and other Harrison residents are our inspiration. We intend to unite your and our talents
and energy into a connected and cohesive force for good to attain Harrison’s full potential.

WHERE MOVING HARRISON FORWARD STANDS ON THE ISSUES

Real estate development has been a welcome economic driver for our town but has strained our
infrastructure and threatened our community’s character. The effects of overbuilding on, for
example, traffic, parking and our schools must be addressed urgently.

Our tax burden is oppressive and has caused many residents to flee. We will prioritize
alternative funding sources to the maximum extent, such as grants from public and private
sources.

Many have become complacent about town government because of the amount of effort
involved to acquire much-needed information. We support total transparency in government,
which means disclosure far in advance and in excess of bare legal minimums.

Our communications to you will focus on substantive issues important to you, not on frivolous
matters that waste your time. We will revamp the town’s outdated website and other social
media sites so you can easily locate information you need.

We plan to implement a comprehensive committee structure that will unleash the untapped
talents of our residents on matters facing our town, including the assimilation of our new Willow
Ridge Country Club facility. These committees will serve as developing grounds for future
municipal leaders.

Our community is lagging in efforts to combat climate change. We plan to go from last to first in
pursuing sustainability goals, such as the State’s Clean Energy Community and Climate Smart
Community initiatives.

Our backgrounds are in customer service and we will never forget that we work for you. A
helpful resident-service attitude will pervade Town Hall in ways not evident in years. No one
will receive special preferences or privileges, least of all elected officials. We will reverse the
Mayor’s self-awarded $30,000 pay raise.

The Harrison Democratic Committee also endorsed Daniel D. Angiolillo for Town Justice. “To
have someone with the knowledge and experience of Justice Angiolillo serving the Town of
Harrison cannot be overstated and we are pleased to support his reelection,” said Corvino.

A brief biography of each candidate follows:

Frank Gordon – Mr. Gordon, who had a 25-year career in accounting, law and finance, currently
serves on the Harrison Town Board full-time. He applies the same principles of outstanding
customer service that he learned in business to resident service. A graduate of the Wharton
School of the University of Pennsylvania and recipient of JD and MBA degrees from the
University of Chicago, he also volunteers at the Harrison Food Pantry.

Rachel Berkey – Ms. Berkey is an accomplished administrator, educator and librarian. She had a
21-year career as a school librarian, beginning at Harrison Avenue School and retiring as Head
Librarian at New York City’s Churchill School & Center. She and her husband have two grown
sons who were educated in the Harrison public schools. She has a MLS in Library Science from
the Palmer School at Long Island University, a JD from Cardozo Law School, a MS in Reading
Education from Syracuse University and a BA from American University. She serves on the
boards of Student Advocacy in Westchester County and the Harrison Children’s Center.

Adam Weiner – Mr. Weiner is a television executive with 20 years’ experience working with
global media brands. He is currently working as a leader for New York State’s COVID-19 Contact
Tracing Initiative and previously served as a Vice President for Nickelodeon. He and his wife
have two children, ages 11 and 8, in the Harrison School District and have strong ties to the
school communities. He holds degrees from Boston University and the University of Toledo and
has been a volunteer softball and soccer coach for many years.

Hon. Daniel D. Angiolillo – Mr. Angiolillo currently serves as Town Justice for the Town of
Harrison. His prior judicial service of 20 years began with his election to the Westchester County
Court, followed by the NYS Supreme Court, Ninth Judicial District. He was appointed to preside
over New York State’s first Integrated Domestic Violence Court. He also served on the Appellate
Term, Ninth and Tenth Judicial Districts and concluded his prior judicial service on the Appellate
Division, Second Judicial Department. Prior to the bench, he served as a law clerk to the
Honorable Kenneth H. Lange and as an Assistant District Attorney in Westchester County. He
presently serves on New York State’s Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee, as Jurist-in-Residence
at Pace University Law School and as President Emeritus for a New York State not-for-profit
devoted to Prader-Willi Syndrome. He graduated from Boston College and received his J.D.
from St. John’s University School of Law.
