Harrison Hit With Car Thefts And Thefts From Cars

Police Lieut. John Vasta reminded residents to be vigilant in locking cars, at all times, during a Town Hall forum.

HARRISON, NY — After a recent rash of car thefts in Harrison, officials gave residents a hands-on workshop on how to protect oneself and one's belongings. On Saturday, Mayor Ron Belmont hosted a community information session in Town Hall.

Lieut. John Vasta of the Harrison Police Department reminded residents to be vigilant in locking cars, at all times, and also recommended that, in all instances, spare keys and valuables should be kept out of sight.

Most of the recent cases involved unlocked vehicles, often with cash or other valuables in plain view, Belmont said.
