Harrison HS Alum Voted All-American by the NJCAA

Austin Pollack plays for the Staten Island Tides this summer and for Hofstra in the fall.

Harrison High School alumni Austin Pollack was last week voted All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association, 2nd team, following a record-setting year (and career) at Westchester Community College.

Pollack, who played baseball for, and graduated from Harrison High School in 2013, finished WCC in May gaining an Associates Degree in Business. 

This past season, Pollack was the starting center fielder, and batted .460 (seventh in the U.S.) with an on-base percentage of .571 (second in the U.S.), for WCC -- which won its region for the third time in the past four years.

He was also voted Region 15 Player of the Year, WCC team Most Valuable Player, Divisional playoff MVP, and WCC scholar athlete of the year, graduating from WCC with a 3.96 GPA.

Pollack compiled the highest career batting average and on-base percentage in WCC history.

He has recently committed to play baseball next year at Hofstra, a Division 1 school that competes in the Colonial Conference. 

This summer, he's the starting center fielder for the Staten Island Tides of the Atlantic Coast Baseball League, a summer league comprised of high-level college players.
