Harrison Schools Proposed Budget Includes Tax Levy Increase Under 1 Percent

The 2016-17 school budget increase is about 0.7 percent.

The Harrison Central School District will have voters deciding on a budget for 2016-17 that includes a tax levy increase of 0.9% over the 2015-16 school budget. This is below the state tax cap.

The total for the proposed budget is $110,033,382 for next school year, which is an increase of 0.69 percent over the last school budget.

This budget includes two additional elementary fifth grade classes and extended hours at the high school. The Harrison Board of Education has more information on the budget here.

This budget was adopted on April 20. The vote will be held on May 17.
