Though we’re into early April, the temps and windchill make it feel like February and the worst of it is coming tonight.
The National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement for Dutchess and Columbia counties and a Freeze Warning for southern Westchester -- but the bottom line is it will be freezing everywhere tonight in the Hudson Valley.

Such a hard freeze can be damaging, the NWS points out, as the abnormal spring we have experienced so far this year has resulted in some early bud development on fruit trees and early plant growth.
The weather continues unseasonable through the rest of the work week. There's a brief warm-up Wednesday night into Thursday -- which is when it is expected to rain. But temps start to drop again Thursday night, and by Friday night the low should be below 30 again.
