HHS Names Its Own As Coach; Holiday Trash Pickup: Mayor's Column
Be considerate of your neighbors when plowing, Mayor Ron Belmont reminds residents.

HARRISON, NY — From the mayor and town board
According to the consumer real estate website NeighborhoodScout Crime Analytics, the Town/Village of Harrison is one of the safest communities in the country. Based on national data at the time of publication, the 2018 report has Harrison ranked 11 th on the list of the 100 safest cities in America.
The analytics organization uses sophisticated algorithms to analyze reported crimes and compares crime data with other American cities. I am very proud of this important ranking and our safety personnel who work hard to ensure that those who live and work in our community feel protected.

Congratulations to former Harrison High School quarterback Jay Ciraco! The Harrison Central School District recently hired Ciraco as its new head football coach. He was an assistant coach at the high school in 2017-18 and when the position of head coach became available, he put his hat in the ring.
After a wide-ranging search process, Ciraco was selected for the position. I look forward to seeing this new coach in action and will be cheering on the Huskies as they dominate the field in the coming seasons.

In an effort to keep our streets safe, as you shovel your property, please do not deposit snow into the roadway as it presents a hazard to motorists and pedestrians. In addition, be considerate of your neighbors, when plowing, making sure that driveways are not obstructed and cars parked on the street are not plowed in.

The Sanitation Schedule Changes is as follows: Garbage and/or recycling normally collected on Monday, February 18th will be collected on Tuesday, February 19th. Garbage and/or recycling normally collected on Tuesday, February 19th will be collected on Wednesday, February 20th. There will be no bulk trash collection on Wednesday, February 20th.
In closing, I would like to remind residents to refrain from putting any toxic materials on their property in an effort to deter unwanted animals. A pesticide label, located on packaging of all pesticides and most toxic compounds, is deemed a legal document and expressly outlines appropriate use and application. If humans or animals are injured, due to misapplication, liability may result. Please proceed with caution.
