HHS Zach Finn Is Section 1 Wrestling Champion – On To States

The Harrison High School senior won the Section and will now compete at the New York State Wrestling Championships in Albany

Congratulations to Harrison High School senior Zach Finn who won the Section 1 Championship in the 220 lb weight class. He is the first Husky since his coach Mark Arcara won the Section 1 Championship in 2008. With the victory, Zach will advance to the New York State Wrestling Championships at the Times Union Center in Albany in February 22-23.

Zach also reached the 100 victory milestone during the Section 1 Championship and had 42 wins this year. Zach defeated Matt Ferrer of John Jay Cross River in the Quarterfinals, Izaiah Steen of Ossining in the semifinals and Ben Robinson of Yorktown in the finals.

The other Huskies also had good results at the Section 1 tournament and gained valuable experience for the upcoming years.

Sophomore Tyler Joseph passed the 100 victory milestone earlier in the year and finished 5th in the Section, earning All-Section honors. He had 38 victories this year.

Eight grader Cole Joseph had 36 wins

Sophomore Val McCoy had 29 wins

Junior Lightning Roggero had 27 wins

Senior Dennis Brecani finished his career as a Husky with 25 wins this season

Sophomore Vito DeFonce had 21 wins

Sophomore Victor Arcara had 20 wins
