Lindsey Run/Walk Draws More Than 1,000 Participants
The sixth annual Lindsey 5k run/walk was held at Purchase College Sunday afternoon.
Organizers had hoped that the annual Lindsey 5k run/walk would draw a thousand people for the first time on Sunday.
They got their wish, as about a hundred walk-in participants pushed pushed the number to a record high in a successful event to benefit the PEACEout Side Campus, the Lindsey M. Bonistall Foundation, which is a non-profit organization working to raise national awareness for safe off-campus student living.
Lindsey Bonistall, who grew up in White Plains, was violently attacked and killed in her off-campus apartment while attending the University of Delaware in 2005. Since then Lindsey's parents Mark and Kathleen Bonistall have founded PEACEout Side Campus.
