HARRISON, NY — Harrison police Officer John Salov found and stopped a wrong-way driver on Westchester Avenue. The car was on the divided highway near the Kenilworth Road intersection at 10:02 a.m. Sunday.
The traffic stop came just 10 days after a fatal crash involving a wrong-way driver on I-287, which runs between east-and westbound Westchester Avenue, killed two people and injured three.
"Our officers are always active on patrol and as such, stopped what could have been another tragedy on I-287. Fortunately, Officer J. Salov was able to safely stop that driver and direct them toward their destination safely," Harrison police said on Facebook. "We checked the intersection subsequent to the stop and proper signs were posted and clearly visible."
