Purchase College Ranked a Best Value School by Princeton Review

Purchase is one of 200 colleges ranked

Purchase College, State University of New York (SUNY), is listed as one of the “Top 200 Best Value Colleges” in the nation by The Princeton Review in the 2020 Best Value College Guide, which states that “students in search of a good school with a reasonable price tag will definitely want to consider Purchase.” The guide evaluates colleges in terms of which offer the best ROI (Return on Investment), based on more than 40 data points that cover academics, affordability, and career preparation.

In the Purchase College profile, The Princeton Review said, that Purchase offers “something for everyone at this school.” The profile states that while many students are drawn to Purchase for the “excellent performing and visual arts programs,” that the college also offers “awesome” programs in the liberal arts and sciences.

The college’s Career Development Center receives high marks for “helping students turn their passions into tangible careers,” through hands on sessions, workshops, job fairs, and events that give students the chance to network with “illustrious companies and organizations, and maybe even walk away with a job or internship offer in hand.”

The profile also emphasizes the school’s proximity to New York City, which benefits the students in terms of internships, auditions, and access to a thriving alumni network.

“We’re pleased that Purchase once again has been nationally recognized for its outstanding programs and its commitment to supporting students through their academic careers and beyond graduation,” said Caitlin Read, Dean of Enrollment Management at Purchase College. “We hope the guide inspires prospective students and their parents who are looking for a high quality education that is also affordable.”

In addition to the Princeton Review recognition, Purchase College has recently been included on other significant college ranking lists. Purchase is included among the best National Liberal Arts Colleges listed in the 2019 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges. Kiplinger’s Personal Finance named Purchase College to its 2019 list of “Best Values in Public Colleges,” while The Fiske Guide to Colleges praised Purchase in its 2020 edition as “a perfect place to study the arts and still be able to indulge in academics of all kinds, or vice versa.”
