Purchase College Ranked a Top Ten Public Liberal Arts College
U.S. News & World Report ranked Purchase College, SUNY in their 2021 edition

Purchase College, State University of New York (SUNY), is listed as one of the Top Ten Public Liberal Arts Colleges and a Top Tier National Liberal Arts Colleges by U.S. News & World Report in the 2021 edition of their college guide. Purchase, which is ranked as one of the most ethnically diverse colleges, is also listed as a top performer on social mobility, which ranks how well the college serves low-income students.
“We’re pleased that Purchase has been nationally recognized for providing an excellent liberal arts education. We’re proud of our commitment to fostering diversity and of our college’s ability to provide a supportive academic, cultural, and social environment for low income students,” said Shane Seaman, Interim Dean of Enrollment Management at Purchase College. “We hope the guide inspires prospective students who are looking for a collaborative education where they will be encouraged to learn and grow as scholars, artists, and critical thinkers.”

In addition to the U.S. News ranking, Purchase College has been included on many significant ranking lists. Purchase is listed as one of the “Top 386 Colleges” in the nation by The Princeton Review in the 2021 edition of their college guide. Purchase is also listed as a Best Northeastern College and a Best Value College. As a college that takes great pride in its values of diversity and acceptance, Purchase is on the list of most LGBTQ friendly colleges in the nation. Home to the acclaimed Performing Arts Center, Purchase was also ranked on the list of Best College Theaters.
Purchase was selected for inclusion in the highly selective 2021 edition of The Fiske Guide to Colleges based on the college’s strength in academics, arts and culture, social life, financial aid, campus environment, extracurricular activities, and more. Purchase was included in Money Magazine's list of best colleges for 2020. The rankings, which focus on the value of a college degree, weighed more than 20,000 data points, including tuition fees, family borrowing, and career earnings and found that Purchase successfully combines quality and affordability.
