Stolen Car Chase Sends Suspect, Cops Running Across I-287
Lanes are still closed on the Cross Westchester Expressway, police said.

HARRISON, NY — A police chase involving first a stolen car and then a man running all the way across I-287 Tuesday afternoon ended with two arrests. At 1:50 p.m., the Westchester County police Real Time Crime Center advised patrol officers that a stolen Honda CRV was traveling northbound on the Hutchinson River Parkway near Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains.
Patrol officers located the car and attempted to pull it over but the driver didn't stop.
Instead, the car continued to the exit ramp leading to eastbound Westchester Avenue / I-287.

At the top of the ramp the driver lost control, crossed both lanes of Westchester Avenue, crashed through a fence and flipped the car. The car came to rest in a small median between the left lane of eastbound Westchester Avenue and the right lane of eastbound I-287 in Harrison.

Two men climbed out of the car. One ran across three lanes of eastbound I-287, three lanes of westbound I-287, and two lanes of westbound Westchester Avenue.

The other was apprehended immediately, police said.
County police officers pursued him on foot despite the dangerous traffic condition and were able to catch him.
Both suspects suffered injuries in the rollover and were taken to Westchester Medical Center, police said.
There are partial lanes closures still in effect on eastbound Westchester Avenue and eastbound I-287 at 3:40 p.m.
