HARRISON, NY — We kick off the weekend with a Hazardous Weather Outlook into Friday night for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties. The biggest potential problem is wind, but flash flooding is also a possibility.
Friday the NWS said:
Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will move through the region today. There is a chance of a few severe storms this afternoon, with the main potential threat being damaging winds. These showers and thunderstorms will also pose a threat for flash flooding.
“The timing on the most numerous showers and thunderstorms appears to be 2pm to 6pm,” said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. “But once again, situations like this will be hard to project the details on. Check our social media posts on Twitter and Facebook to keep up with the developing situation.”

But there's good news later this weekend (and on Eclipse Day).
