Town Honors Little League All-Stars
The Harrison Town Board honored this year's 9/10-year-old Little League all-star team during this week's meeting.

Harrison Mayor/Supervisor Joan Walsh kicked-off Thursday night's town/village board meeting by reading a proclamation prepared by the town congratulating the 9/10 year-old Little League all-star team that advanced through the district tournament and into the section semi-finals this summer.
"To get to the semi-finals means that our all-star team is one of the best teams in New York State," she said. "We thank each and every one of you for carrying the town banner so proud and so well."
The team defeated Eastchester 11-8 in the district finals.

Nominations are being accepted for the Harrison Citizen of the Year Award, which will be presented at the "It's Great to Live in Harrison Day" celebration this fall.
Nominations must be received by September 7 and can be mailed to the citizen of the year committee located at the recreation department.
Public Hearings Postponed
The town board will postpone discussions on proposed changes to a building and permit fees code. A change in the code would allow for charitable functions to host events in the town without paying a fee.
The town also delayed public discussion on a retirement incentive program that the town has the option to accept from the state government. The program is different than the one used last year when 17 town employees retired to clear room for the budget, but has some of the same concepts.
The board discussed the idea in a private session and will re-visit it in the future.
DonationsÂ
The Harrison Food Pantry accepted two donations and a grant totaling $3,250.
No Left Turns Near CVS
The board approved a request by Harrison Police Chief Anthony Marraccini to prohibit left turns from the driveway of 260 and 270 Halstead Avenue. Several motorists have complained about people crossing the double yellow line in the area to make the turn, posing a danger to on-coming traffic.
The next town and village board meetings will be held on September 7.
