Bodega For Brooklyn Artisanal Crowd Closes After Just 3 Months

Supérette, which billed itself as an "artisanal mini mart," closed its Front Street spot after only three months in business.

DUMBO, NY — A DUMBO bodega that billed itself as a market for Brooklyn's artisanal crowd shuttered after just three months in business, Broeklyn first reported.

Supérette, which called itself an "artisanal mini mart" instead of a bodega, closed its tiny 150-square-foot store at 145 Front St. store last week. Owners also advertised their "custom design and made in Brooklyn" counter on Craigslist for $2,500.

The shop first opened in November to sell "artisanal snack items" and "cult-favorite grocery products," Bklyner reported.

Despite being the same size as many bodegas, the shop refused to call itself one instead using "mini market" or "convenience store" instead, Brokelyn reported.
