Brooklyn Events Happening This Weekend: Oct. 20-22

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — The work week is done so why don’t you take the train to a place that is not your job? This weekend, you can drink lots of toasts to zombies, carve pumpkins with maniacs or get your next epic Halloween costume ready. This is what weekends are for.

FAD Market: Fall Edition
Neighborhood: Downtown Brooklyn
What: More than 50 designers will showcase handcrafted art, jewelry, apparel, bath and body care, tableware and home furnishings. Bring your wallet - this is not a bubble bath and throw pillow museum.

Creepshow
Neighborhood: Williamsburg
What: Nighthawk will screen a horror anthology film, based on the 1950s comic book series, directed by George A. Romero and written by Stephen King.
Where: Nighthawk Cinema at 136 Metropolitan Ave.
When: 11:30 a.m. Saturday


Pop-up: Interior Design with an African Twist
Neighborhood: Bed-Stuy
What: Come buy lollipop stools, handwoven baskets, leather Moroccan slippers and Christmas ornaments from Ghana and more.
Where: Peace & Riot at 401 Tompkins Ave.
When: 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday

Gowanus Open Studios 2017
Neighborhood: Gowunus
What: The Ti Art Studios will open its doors to the public to showcase the work of more than 70 local artists.
Where: Ti Art Studios at 183 Lorraine St.
When: 12 p.m. Saturday through 6 p.m. Sunday


Midnights: Shaun of the Dead Drinking Game
Neighborhood: Williamsburg
What: Drink along with the movie at this screening whenever you hear certain phrases, horror movie staples, or "Edgar Wrightisms."
Where: Videology at 308 Bedford Ave.
When: 11:59 p.m. Saturday


Maniac Pumpkin Carvers at Halloween Harvest
Neighborhood: Coney Island
What: The Maniac Pumpkin Carvers will come to Luna Park to make crazy pumpkin carvings at Captain Jack’s Pumpkin Shack.
Where: Luna Park at 1000 Surf Ave.
When: 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday


10th Annual Howl-o-ween Bark Block Party
Neighborhood: Windsor Terrace
What: A pup-friendly Halloween block party with adoptions, dog activities and a barbecue.
Where: Sean Casey Animal Rescue at 153 East Third St.
When: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday


Boutique Bazaar: Halloween Market
Neighborhoods: Bushwick
What: Pick up what you need for this year's costume. Boutique Bazaar vendors will be selling seasonal jewelry, crafts, vintage, handmade goods, arts, textiles, festival wear, costumes, lingerie, menswear and more. If we know House of Yes, glitter will be involved.
Where: House of Yes at 2 Wyckoff Ave.
When: 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday


Brooklyn Oktoberfest
Neighborhood: Greenpoint
What: Check out one of the last Oktoberfest events of the season. The 9,000-square-foot warehouse will be decked out with Bavarian blue and white decorations and authentic festival tables. And there will be a host of live music.
Where: Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse at 73 West St.
When: Events from Friday through Sunday


Rye Week Festival
Neighborhood: Williamsburg
What: Rye, the other brown liquor, will be celebrated in the first ever Rye Week festival that includes tastings and treats from Union Square Cafe.
Where: New York Distilling Company at 79 Richardson St.
When: All weekend long.
