Brooklyn Heights Cat Cafe Holds Children's Book Reading
Author Max Goodman on Saturday will read from his picture book, "The Secret Life of Lilykins," about a house cat with a crazy imagination.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — If your kid is a cat fanatic, you're going to want to attend the Brooklyn Cat Cafe's special reading event held this Saturday afternoon, in which author Max Goodman will read from his book The Secret Life of Lilykins. There will be adoptable cats there, arts and crafts that are cat-themed, and kids will even be able to take their picture with a real-life cat that looks like Lilykins.
Lilykins of Goodman's children's book is a house cat who has a powerful imagination that sends her on incredible adventures.
The Brooklyn Cat Cafe, at 149 Atlantic Ave., costs $5 for every 30 minutes. The readings don't cost extra, and every child under 3 is free. You can make a reservation here, but they're not required. All the money the cafe raises goes to Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition.
