Brooklyn Heights Former Hotel Makes Top 10 Most Valuable Planned BK Condos: Report
The Standish is projected to sell out for a total of at least $112 million, according to the old hotel's developer.
BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — The former Standish Hotel in Columbia Heights that was recently converted to rental apartments is now getting a massive upgrade to million-dollar condos, ranking number 3 in the list of the 2016 10 most valuable condo filings in Brooklyn.
Developer DDG and real estate investment company Westbrook Partners bought the building, at 171 Columbia Heights, for $60 million, the Real Deal reported. The former owner of the Standish was Taurus Investment Holdings, which bought the building in 2007 from the Jehovah's Witnesses in $50 million and transformed it into rental apartments.
The Real Deal ranked the top 10 most valuable Brooklyn condo filings in 2016 that have been approved by the New York Attorney General's office, based on their projected sellout numbers. The Standish was ranked third most valuable.

The condo filing for the Standish that was accepted by the New York Attorney General's Office this year says the building will have 50 condos, and they are all predicted to sell for a total of $112.9 million. The Real Deal, however, reported that a representative from DDG told the publication that DDG was filing an amendment to get 33 condos for a sellout of $116 million.
Right now, the average asking price of a condo in the building is $2.9 million, according to StreetEasy.

The top-ranked on the list is the Williamsburg waterfront property at 184 Kent St. that Donald Trump's son-in-law and right hand man Jared Kushner purchased for $275 million in 2015. The projected sellout for the converted building is $427.3 million, according to the filing accepted by the Attorney General's office.
