"Anbinder shares the sweeping story of how newcomers have continually helped to define and redefine this city and country over the past few centuries, and shows how together we have created a beautifully dynamic, deeply complex community," the Brooklyn Historical Society event description says.

Tickets are $5 for the general public and free for Brooklyn Historical Society members. The book talk will happen on Monday, March 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the historical society at 128 Pierrepoint St. in Brooklyn Heights. Purchase tickets here.
