Parents Call for Brooklyn Bridge Park Pop-Up Pool to Stay

This is the last scheduled year for the pool, in order to make way for more parkland at the site.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A group of parents want Brooklyn Bridge Park’s pop-up pool to stay past its scheduled close at the end of the summer.

The pool is open from June 29 until Labor Day weekend. It will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for 45-minute sessions.

However, as the Brooklyn Daily Eagle reported earlier this year, this is the last summer that the pool will be around.

The plan was always for the pool to be eliminated after five summers in order to build more parkland at the site.

But a group called Brooklyn Heights Parents is attempting to keep the pool open for future summers. They encourage anyone who wants to get involved to email suzannequint@gmail.com.

We’ve reached out to Suzanne for further comment and will update this post if we hear back.
