Brooklyn Sex Crimes Detective Sexually Abused Child: Officials
An 84th Precinct detective who worked in the Sex Offender Monitoring Unit was charged for groping a 12-year-old, officials and reports said.

DOWNTOWN, BROOKLYN — A Brooklyn detective who worked investigating sex crimes was charged with sexually abusing a 12-year-old, according to police and reports.
Juan Jimenez, who worked with Downtown Brooklyn's 84th Precinct, was arrested Friday and charged with forcible touching, acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17 years old and two counts of sex abuse, police said.
He is accused of grabbing the 12-year-old, trying to kiss her and grabbing her butt, court records show.

Jimenez, 37, had been assigned to the Sex Offender Monitoring Unit in Manhattan for the NYPD's Special Victims Division, sources told the New York Post. The Post reported that the girl had been working as a babysitter for Jimenez.
A judge in Brooklyn released Jimenez without bail after an arraignment Friday, where prosecutors asked bail to be set at $50,000.
