City Point Pop-Up Brings Summer Merch And Beach Books To Downtown Brooklyn

The home-decor magazine Domino has packed a massive City Point retail space with summer-themed, Brooklyn-sourced merch.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — A new pop-up shop is bringing Brooklyn books, summery snacks and even a set of swings to City Point for three weekends this summer.

The home-decor magazine Domino has packed a massive retail space at 445 Albee Square West with summer-themed, Brooklyn-sourced merch, which includes a Books Are Magic corner replete with beach books.

The brightly pink shop launched on Friday and will be opening its doors again between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday, June 9 through Sunday, June 11 and on Friday, June 16 through Sunday, June 18.

Brooklyn businesses provided a good percentage of the goods — Brooklyn-based vendors include Dusen Dusen, Bushwick Kitchen, Found My Animal and Salty Road.

A collection of “Brooklyn Born” canvas bags are also being sold to benefit the Prospect Park Alliance, which will receive 100 percent of the tote proceeds.

Brooklyn’s own Maggie Gyllenhaal hosted the launch party, which also benefited the Prospect Park Alliance, on Thursday night.
