City To Resurface Sections Of BQE Starting Monday Night

The work will close several lanes of the highway from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. every night for two weeks, the city said.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY — A portion of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway will be resurfaced on weekday nights starting Monday, with several lanes to be closed during the work, the city said.

The Department of Transportation plans to resurface the northbound section of the BQE near Cadman Plaza and the southbound portion near Tillary Street with work scheduled for two weeks every weeknight, according to the agency.

Crews will work from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. during the week, depending on the weather, and the construction will close one or more lanes each day, the DOT said.

The work starts Monday with the northbound portion of the BQE from Cadman Plaza to Tillary Street then moves to the southbound section from Tillary Street to the Brooklyn Bridge, according to the agency.

The DOT warned drivers to expect delays on the highway near those sections during the work hours.
