Colombian Coffee Roaster Devoción Opens Downtown Brooklyn Outpost

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN, NY — A Colombian coffee roaster opened their second Brooklyn outpost this week with a new 40-seat cafe at the ground-floor of a luxury Downtown Brooklyn tower, developers TF Cornerstone announced.

Devoción took over 1,700-square-feet inside the luxury apartment building at 33 Bond St. for their third coffee shop that has a 26-foot wood coffee bar, large windows and more than 35 different types of plants around the seating.

"Our second New York store is, to some degree, more important than our first, so I am excited to have found such a great location," Devoción founder Steven Sutton said in a statement. "It is, like our original one, a location where we play a role in the evolution of the area as an accelerator of growth."

The new spot is outfitted with a Ground Control drip machines that uses a vacuum pump to control coffee extraction, a custom-made Slayer espresso machine, cold brew on tap, pour over coffees and more, according to a spokesman for the developer.

Devoción launched their first location in Bogotá in 2006 then came over to the United States in 2013 with a cafe and roaster in Williamsburg, according to the company.
