Controversial Condos In Brooklyn Bridge Park To Start At $1.9M
Condos in the Quay Tower will go on sale in the spring, developers said.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY — A luxury condo project that a lawsuit is still attempting to halt on Brooklyn Bridge Park's Pier 6 will list its first units for at least $1.9 million in the spring, developers announced.
The controversial project was dubbed Quay Tower by developers RAL Companies and Oliver's Realty Group. A new website launched this week teasing apartment in the first of the two towers being built on the site.
The 28-story building will have a mix of two- to five-bedroom units. Prices start at $1.9 million for two-bedrooms and climb up to $5.5 million for a five-bedroom, according to the site.

There will be a total of 126 condos for sale and developers expect the first tenants to move in during the summer of next year.
The non-profit group that runs the Brooklyn Bridge Park selected RAL Companies and Oliver's Realty Group to build the condos in 2015 and approved the plans the next year, the Brooklyn Paper reported.

Their plans call for a 28- and 15-story tower to be built on the pier with the smaller building set to include affordable apartments and market-rate rentals.
The Brooklyn Heights Association civic group filed a lawsuit in 2016 to stop the towers from going up, arguing park operators violated an agreement to only allow the minimum amount of private development needed to fund maintenance, the Brooklyn Paper reported.
Despite the suit, developers filed plans for the towers last year and a judge ruled in July construction could start while the legal fight plays out.
Court proceedings wrapped up in November and Judge Carmen Victoria St. George is still deliberating on if the towers can stay.
