Dekalb Market Hall Is Getting A Speakeasy And An Events Venue
The new Dekalb Stage and speakeasy cocktail bar are set to open in the next few weeks.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN, BROOKLYN — Stand-up comedy shows, bingo nights and trivia will soon be coming to Dekalb Market Hall, along with a speakeasy-style spot to grab a cocktail before or after the show.
The market hall recently announced that a 7,500-square-foot venue called Dekalb Stage and Understudy, a bar accessed by a secret door in the event space, will join the food hall in the next few weeks. Both new spots will open in late January or early February, a representative with the market said.
"Dekalb Stage will house public-facing arts, culture and entertainment programming such as live music, original performance pieces, theater, community engaging events and brings two rentable rooms for private events holding up to 400 people," the market said in a release.

"Understudy was designed by the award-winning HOME Studios based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and provides Dekalb Market Hall with an elegant, dimly lit hideaway featuring handmade blue and white tiled walls, cushioned banquette seating and cozy nooks offering quiet oases from the bustling market outside," the market said.
Both new additions were brought to the hall by its founder Anna Castellani, who opened the "innovative culinary destination" in 2017.
The market hall features over 40 local and regional vendors, including both grab-and-go options and sit-down eateries.
