BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY — Developer Vincent Viola wants to build a pool inside one of the former Jehovah's Witnesses buildings in Brooklyn Heights, the Brooklyn Eagle reported.

Viola, a commodities trader who was once President Donald Trump's pick to become secretary of army, filed plans with the city earlier this year to excavate the cellar of 124 Columbia Heights in order to build a pool in the spot, city records show.

Virtu Financial, which Viola works as CEO, bought the 10-story building in 2016 for $105 million as part of Jehovah's Witnesses sell-off of properties in the neighborhood, the Real Deal reported. The groupfiled plans last year to turn it into a 101-unit apartment building. The spot previously held 237 dorm rooms for the religious group.
