Famed DUMBO Pizza Joint Grimaldi's Closed By Health Department
The city agency ordered the famous pizzeria to close after an inspector found mice.

DUMBO, NY — The famed Front Street location of Grimaldi's Pizza was shuttered by the city last week after inspectors found evidence of mice inside, CBS New York first reported.
The city's Health Department ordered the 1 Front St. spot to shut down when a Jan. 10 inspection turned up "evidence of mice or live mice" and found the eatery wasn't "vermin proof," according to the agency. Grimaldi's was also issued a violation because of problems with the plumbing.
The famous pizzeria first opened at a nearby location underneath the Brooklyn Bridge in 1990 but moved to the former bank at 1 Front St. in 2011, the Brooklyn Paper reported.

While it has several locations around the city, the Front Street one remains their most popular. Zagat called it a "tourist magnet" with "endless crowds," but still gave it's coal-oven cooked pies high marks.
