Kids from Plymouth Church deliver flowers to seniors

Vacation Bible Camp participants spend a week

Plymouth Church, an open and inclusive community of faith in Brooklyn Heights, hosted a Vacation Bible Camp last week. The camp provides kids ages 3 to 13 with five days of activities focused on helping their community, including the hungry, homeless, and local seniors.

One of the highlights of the week was an activity in partnership with Bloom Again Brooklyn, a nonprofit that creates beautiful bouquets using unsold flowers for homebound seniors. On Wednesday, the campers thoughtfully decorated vases, arranged flowers, and wrote cards for residents of the Cobble Hill Health Center. The next day, they had the chance to deliver the flowers in person. The recipients were overjoyed by the beautiful arrangements and the conversations with the young Brooklynites.
