Korilla Korean BBQ To Open New Brooklyn Outpost
The beloved Korean BBQ restaurant's first Brooklyn location is set to open in late spring or early summer.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN, BROOKLYN — Korilla, the iconic South Korean barbecue restaurant with the painted tiger stripes on its facade, is opening its first Brooklyn location, it announced. The Downtown Brooklyn outpost is expected to open in late spring to early summer.
The restaurant — which is known for its burritos and tacos, spicy pork rice bowls and kimcheese fries — signed a 10-year lease at 2 MetroTech Center, according to a press release by Forest City Ratner Companies and Lee & Associates NYC, the owner of the development and the lawyers who represented Korilla in the deal.
Korilla began in 2010 as a little-known food truck and parked weekly at MetroTech since 2015. Its first location opened in the East Village in 2014, where it says it has been committed to "making Korean food more accessible."

"We're thrilled that what started two years ago as a fun experiment with bringing the Korilla truck to MetroTech has blossomed into a permanent presence," said Regina Myer, president of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership. "Korilla adds even more diversity to Downtown Brooklyn’s burgeoning restaurant scene, and I have no doubt our community will welcome them with open arms."
