Map: Schools Accepting Applications Near Brooklyn Heights

Check out Patch's map of nursery, elementary and middle schools around Brooklyn Heights that are accepting applications for 2018.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — Imagine running a marathon in front of a billion spectators wearing nothing but a smile. That situation would probably feel less confusing, endless and terrifying than the process of finding the right school in Brooklyn.

The competition is fierce, the rules are stricter than strict and the pressure is real, because what’s at stake is the future of the kid you love more than life itself.

So Patch decided to take a small amount of the pain away by rounding up local preschools, elementary and middle schools currently accepting applications for 2018 and charting them on a map. (We didn't include public schools, because those applications follow a zoning system and depend on availability in your school district. ) We've included links to each school’s site, details about upcoming open houses and how much time you've got to apply.

The catch is that we know we’ve missed some great options. So if you can think of a school other parents should know about, please shoot an email to Patch reporter Kathleen Culliton at kathleen.culliton@patch.com and she will update the map.

Happy hunting, and best of luck.
