Nature Party To Mark Anniversary Of Brooklyn Environmental Center
The free, family-friendly, environmentally-themed event will be hosted by the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy.

DUMBO, BROOKLYN — Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy will open its Environmental Education Center on Sunday for a free, family-friendly event in celebration of the center’s third anniversary.
The center will open one hour earlier than normal for this public shindig. All exhibits and activities will take place from 12 to 5 p.m. at the Environmental Education Center inside Main Street Park, near the corner of Plymouth and Washington streets.
Kids can check out interactive displays, create their own seahorse mask, participate in a nature walk and receive a “cove kit” stuffed with environmentally friendly-themed items like nature field guides, binoculars, activity booklets and more throughout the entire day.

“With its rotating exhibits, new displays, and original programming, you learn more about the Park and its natural environment with every visit,” said Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy Executive Director Nancy Webster of the Environmental Education Center.
And students aren’t the only ones who can take advantage.
Members of the public can also visit the center and participate in free activities during themed, monthly sessions that explore park-related topics such as sustainability and pollination.
As a whole, the conservancy provides more than 600 free, cultural, educational and recreational events in the park every year.
