New Mansion Could Rise In Brooklyn Heights Historical District
A developer renewed his efforts to build a modern mansion in Brooklyn Heights' historical district, according to records and reports.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — A new mansion could rise in Brooklyn Heights Historic District as a developer renews efforts to gain city Landmarks Preservation Commission approval, according to city records and reports.
Developers presented plans Tuesday to build a single-family house on an empty lot at 27 Cranberry St. about eight years after owner Lou Grecco's application was first submitted and approved, according to LPC records and the Brooklyn Daily Eagle.
Two years after that approval expired, architect David Freire, of NY3 Design Group, presented new proposed plans for a six-story building with a penthouse, floor-to-ceiling windows, a stone front stoop, three above-ground levels and two basement levels.

The LPC denied the application and told Freire to come back with more information about how the structure would affect its neighbors, the Brooklyn Eagle reported.
The LPC initially approved plans from another architect, Tom Van Den Bout, in 2011, one year after limited liability company SDS 155 LINCOLN LLC bought 27 Cranberry St. for $1.5 million in 2010, city records show.
