DUMBO, BROOKLYN — Artists, non-profits and cultural organizations have one day left to apply for subsidized rent in Dumbo properties run by Two Trees Management.
The company's Cultural Space Subsidy Program offers three-year leases at $12 per square foot, in properties the company says typically rent for more than $40 per square foot.

According to Two Trees, both commercial office space and studio space is available, with units ranging from 700 square feet to 2,500 square feet.
Most properties feature "high ceilings and natural light," Two Trees says, as well as "access to freight elevators, communal conference rooms and high-speed internet."

When evaluating applications, the company is looking for non-profits dedicated to the arts, education and community advocacy, among other related missions. However, groups that aren't non-profits and professional artists can also apply.
The rental spaces can't be used for storage, and can't be sublet out. They also can't host toxic chemicals, high-powered electrical equipment, or welding.
