Sweetgreen Salad Shop Comes To DUMBO

This is the store's second outpost in Brooklyn, 16th in the city, and 70th in the nation.

DUMBO, BROOKLYN — Chopped salads continued their takeover of New York City Monday when a new Sweetgreen outpost opened in DUMBO.

The custom-made salad shop opened at 50 Washington Street near Water Street on Monday. It is the 16th Sweetgreen to open in New York City and the second to open in Brooklyn.

The new store features an “ interactive seating area” where customers can watch ingredients being prepped and is equipped to accept orders through the company app.

Sweetgreen has launched 70 locations in seven states and the District of Columbia since its owners — a group of Georgetown University students who wanted healthier fast food options — opened their first store in 2007.

The company made news in June when Eater reported Sweetgreen hiked their prices to offer employees higher wages benefits and parental leave.
