Watch Manhattan Bridge Light Up With Massive Video Art Installation
March's First Thursday in Dumbo will feature an artistic film projected onto the bridge from dusk til 10 p.m.

DUMBO, BROOKLYN — A massive outdoor video art installation is coming to the Manhattan Bridge at the beginning of March. The bridge will be lit up from dusk until 10 p.m. with an artistic film called "Digital Fairytales: Album II," projected at the size of 65-by-40 feet. The film gains inspiration from 19th century German tales and combines music and visuals to make the statement that humans can "bridge" the divide of time because we are all connected throughout history by our subconscious minds.
"Digital Fairytales" is the latest in a series of art installations projected onto the Manhattan Bridge the first Thursday of every month. The project, which began 2015, is called Light Year. It's curated created and presented by Leo Kuelbs Collection, John Ensor Parker and Glowing Bulbs (or 3_Search).
Light Year has hosted over 100 artists and curators from around the world in the few years it has put on the project. It will be a large part of the First Thursday Gallery Walk in Dumbo on March 2, and there will be an opportunity to attend a panel discussion with Kuelbs and artists featured in the show at 7:30 p.m. at the Made in NY Media Center by IFP at 30 John St. There will be free wine and beer.
