WATCH: Police Convert Truck Into 'Sleigh,' Give Presents to 1000s of BK Children

The NYPD North Brooklyn borough made 10 stops Friday night to give kids gifts for the holidays.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — The NYPD's North Brooklyn patrol on Friday night converted two of its barrier trucks into giant Christmas-themed sleighs and delivered thousands of presents to Brooklyn children.

The "sleigh" was decorated with Christmas lights and playing Christmas music, and more than 50 officers dressed in superhero and princess costumes handed out over 3,000 presents to children in the 10 precincts within the patrol's area.

The NYPD stopped at Cooper Houses, a New York Public Housing Authority complex in Greenpoint; Hylan Houses, a public housing complex in Bushwick; Fort Greene Park; Albee Sq. Mall in Downtown Brooklyn; Fulton St. Restoration; Fulton Park in Bed-Stuy; Brower Park in Crown Heights, Zion Triangle in Brownsville; St. Fortunata Church in East New York; and Irving Sq. Park in Bushwick.
