2 Struck By LIRR Trains Causes Morning Commute Delays

A person was struck near Hicksville and another was struck in Woodside, officials say.

Two people were struck by Long Island Rail Road trains near the Hicksville and Woodside stations on Monday morning, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority says.

Service was briefly suspended and there were residual delays during morning rush hour and into the off-peak hours of the morning after the incidents were cleared.

According to the MTA, both persons struck by the trains were not authorized to be on the tracks.
